Just finished The Weatherman with Nicholas Cage. From all the previews, it seemed to me that the plot would have been that of a light comedy. It still was good, but it was not light at all. Cage plays the role of Dave Spritz, a selfish, clueless, divorced weatherman who is the son of a famous novelist. His dad recently finds out he has terminal lymphoma, and Dave wants to pull things together in his relationship with his children and ex-wife in order to prove himself to his dad. However, it seems Spritz is doomed to fail, as embodied in awkward scenes of trying miserably to connect with his family. At each try, the viewer wants for the weatherman to succeed, and each time the viewer is dissappointed.

All in all, its a pretty dark comedy, and although it ends on an uplifting note, the coarseness of the route to get there is not really that funny. Its definitely not a summer movie.

Hows that for a movie review. lol. Ebert's got nothing on me.

Gahhhhhhhhh. School. blah. soooooo mannny papersssss.
